Relaxation Massage
Lymphatic Massage The nourishing and internal cleansing of our bodies relies on two systems of circulation – blood and lymph. The lymph system is responsible for the removal of wastes and debris from our body. Whilst the heart circulates blood, lymph does not have the same automatic assistance. The circulation of lymph relies on movement and the assistance of gravity. Where there is restricted movement or inactivity, lymph circulation can become impaired. Even in a normally “active” person, the lymphatic system can become sluggish due to the workload it is responsible for. A lymphatic massage increases lymph circulation through the body’s natural filtration system by up to 25 times its normal rate, thereby detoxifying the body and supporting its health and the immune system. Lymphatic massage is also of assistance where the body is undergoing a detoxification program. The massage is a series of directional segmented and gentle movements of light pressure. The massage acts on the lymph vessels which are just under the skin. Lymphatic massage is of most benefit to the body where you program a weekly treatment for the first month, fortnightly for the next two months followed by a monthly maintenance massage. Cranial (Head) Massage Cranial Massage involves the manipulation of the soft tissues of the neck, shoulder, and head. These are the areas where tension is particularly prone to accumulate.
